About "Parrandier", The Old Church of Urquhart: We are at the heart of the area known as "The Laich of Moray". The Laich lies in the shelter of the Grampian Highlands and is well known for its dry and sunny climate.
Your spirits lift as you approach the edge of the village and spy the inspiring 58ft tower of The Old Church of Urquhart. The converted church dates back to 1843 and is a B - listed building. Conceived in the perpendicular style of 'James Gillespie Graham', it is situated in a superb rural location 5 miles from Elgin. On top of a small hill, the church offers open, uninterrupted views of the beautiful countryside.
You find your own little island of peace in nearly 2 acres of garden grounds, surrounded by a sea of stormy farmland. "Parrandier" is an ideal base for exploring the Malt Whisky Country.

You can plan day trips in your car to:-
the Whisky Trail
the Castle Trail
the Victorian Heritage Trail
the Stone Circle Trail
and of course see Loch Ness and its Monster.

Surrounding area: From Inverness / Elgin:- on the A96 to Aberdeen take a turn off to Lhanbryde into the village and take the second left, at crossroads turn left sign posted Urquhart.

From Aberdeen:- on the A96 passing Mosstodloch turn right sign posted Urquhart and drive straight through the forest and over crossroads.

In Urquhart:- take the first left and then right into Meft Road and see the church on top of a small hill!!!

Honeymooners - or other special romantic events - may set the bell ringing!

Relax at the end of a day full of enjoyable experiences in one of the two public lounges. The atmosphere of the Old Church has a special feeling very different from your lounge at home. "Parrandier", your contemplative home, has been imaginatively redesigned to provide comfortable accommodation on two floors.

The character of The Old Church has been retained inside as well as out - a spacious lounge and dining room under the original, simply decorated church ceiling have replaced the gallery.

The wooden wainscoting in the bedrooms, the timber pillars in the bar/games area and the delicate, stone tracery of the windows are reminders of Parrandier's former life as a place of worship. You will find a warm Scottish-German welcome. Open fire, double glazing and central heating ensure you will be kept cosy throughout your stay, summer or winter.

Please pay a refundable DEPOSIT of 30% of the total booking amount when we confirm your booking. We accept a cheque, which should be payable to "Parrandier".

Please note...we have to make a claim in the case of cancellation up to the 28th day before arrival-date of 10%, from 27th to 15th day the whole deposit, from 14th to 8th day of 60%, from 7th to 2nd day of 80%, 1 day before or in the case of cancellation on the arrival-day and no appearance the total amount.
