About The Steading: Tucked away in Newstead, the oldest continually inhabited village in Scotland, ‘The Steading’ offers quality and tranquillity in an enviable location, backed by the famous River Tweed and fronted with wonderful views of the Eildon Hills. The bustling town of Melrose is less than a mile away and offers an abundance of specialised shops, first class eateries and the beautiful ruined Abbey. The Steading offers self-catering or bed and breakfast for six persons. One double room with ensuite, one double room, one twin room, a full bathroom and a further separate toilet. Kitchen with dining area, utility room, upstairs lounge and wonderful balcony. The Steading, surrounded by lawn, has patio furniture, parking for 2 cars and secure lockup for bicycles.
