There are many pubs with excellent beer in local villages. Glasgow and Edinburgh are easily accessible by Trains from Stirling. There is no public transport from Stronvar so cars are essential. Local Village shops (Strathyre and Lochearnhead both with post offices) are excellent for all general groceries (And local gossip and advice!) Callander 12 miles (16km) away has two supermarkets. Churches: Balquhidder is Presbyterian, Lochearnhead is Episcopalian and there is also Roman Catholic in Callander and all are very welcoming. Sports centre with swimming pool at Callander. Tennis in Strathyre. Our garden is secluded and there is free access to all the countryside and mountains.
