Surrounding area: The Northern Highlands is the vast upland area north of the Great Glen. Here you will find an amazingly beautiful and varied mountain landscape that is amongst the most impressive in the British Isles. There's everything from high rocky mountain summits, deep picturesque glens, lochs, waterfalls and lots of wide-open spaces. This is an area of sparse population where in places the mountain ranges stretch for many tens of miles without encountering roads or habitation. This really is a hill walker, climber, mountain biker or nature lovers paradise.
Nearby to the east of us is the coastal area of "The Firthlands" with a varied coastline anything from large empty sandy beaches to impressive rocky cliffs.
