Surrounding area: Located close to the great glen that traverses Scotland, it lies south of the magnificent Loch Ness on a quiet stretch of road at Whitebridge in the heart of Strathherrick. The lodges are situated on the banks of the river Fechlin admist rugged Granite Mountains and steep wooded glens. Crossing the river is General Wades Bridge built in 1732 to carry the Military from Fort Augustus to Fort George near Inverness. Constructed from local stone and white lime cement it became a landmark from which the hamlet of Whitebridge took its name.
