About Kinglas Log Cabin: The cabin is set in an acre of its own forest ground on the shores of Loch Awe, near to the village of Dalavich and close to Oban, on the West coast of Scotland. The self catering living accommodation, which sleeps up to 8, consists of: *An open plan living/dining area, with a large bank of windows and French doors leading out onto the veranda. *A newly fitted modern kitchen with solid wood worktops, electric 4 hob cooker, microwave, toaster, fridge and freezer, kettle, and full range of crockery, cutlery, and cooking utensils. *A delightful, light double bedroom with wardrobe and storage space *A triple bunk room, (great fun for the children!) *A loft bunk bed above the sitting area for those with a sense of adventure *A double sofa bed *A shower room with toilet, washbasin, electric shower unit, fan heater and shaver unit The cabin is fully double glazed and heated throughout with electric heaters, plus an electric stove in the living room. There is private parking close to the cabin, and there is private fishing both from the shore and from boats on Loch Awe.

Surrounding area: Loch Awe is one of Scotland's largest freshwater lochs and is renowned for its pike, trout and salmon fishing. The loch and the surrounding forest are also home to Osprey, Eagles, Otters, Pine Marten, Capercaillie and many other kinds of birds. There are walking and cycle trails through the forest and along the loch, and not far away are the Munros of Ben Cruachan and many more magnificent mountains. The forest surrounding the cabin is mainly Oak and Silver Birch, with large Scots Pine beyond, making the cabin setting very private and not overlooked.

Additional notes: The local village of Dalavich has a shop/post office/cafe where you can enjoy a varied lunchtime and early evening menu as well as stock up on the essentials. The shop also has bike hire. There is not a pub in the village but there is a Social Club with bar, childrens' facilities, pool table and sports hall. The Social Club is run by the village and entry to the club for guests costs £1.00 per adult or just £4.00 for the week. About 15 minutes drive away there are good pubs and restaurants locally at Kilchrennan, Kilmartin and Ardanaseig. Boats can be hired from Norman Clark in the village of Dalavich. There is also a laundry on site for the use of residents. Included with the cost of accommodation are fishing rights from shore and boat on Loch Awe, Loch Avich and the River Avich.
