About Duart Castle Charity Coffee Morning: On Friday 26th September, from 10:30am to 4:00pm, Duart Castle, the oldest lived in castle on the Isle of Mull, will take part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, a national charity event that will raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. This year, the charity aims to raise almost £800,000 for people with cancer living in Scotland.
Staff at the castle have organised an all day coffee morning to take place in their popular tea room which, just recently, received a public nomination to be part of VisitScotland’s Café Trail. The atmosphere at the event will be full of beans when the tea room host live music from local accordion Calum Maclean and raffle tickets for fantastic prizes go on sale - all complimented by a great cuppa to help raise money for the cause.
Visitors, in return for a donation, can choose from a selection of quality teas & coffees, thanks to kind contributions from tea & coffee suppliers, Matthew Algie. For the event only, each type of tea & coffee will be appropriately named after famous Macleans and castle figures. All tea & coffee donations will go to the charity and donations can also be made via collection boxes around the tea room.
