About Auchendean: Awarded the "Best use of Fresh Seasonal Produce" by Taste of Scotland for the hotel's use of organic home grown produce from salads to 45 varities of potatoes, sugar pod peas, and all manner of soft fruit including yellow raspberries, white wild strawberries and cherries, amongst many others. Also specialising in wild fungi (30+ varieties ) which are on the menu most nights, as is wild Scottish game. Very large - and reasonably priced - wine list, probably the largest New Zealand list in Scotland, and many other new World wines as well as the Old World favourites. Small, intimate and very relaxed and friendly, with a house party atmosphere.
