Medieval tower house built around 1500 by Ninian Adair, one of the most powerful landowners in Wigtonshire. Videos and reconstructions tell the story of the castle from it early days through to its use as a government base during the suppression of the Covenanters and its later role as a town prison. Videos and reconstructions are used to tell the Castle story. A Castle activity booklet helps children and families to explore the building, whilst the "dressing up box" in the activity room provides fun for both children and adult alike, Steep spiral stair case limits disabled access.

Monday to Saturday, 10am-1pm and 2pm-5pm.
