Situated in the beautiful grounds of Crichton Royal Hospital, Crichton Royal Museum is mainly devoted to the story of pioneering mental heath care in South West Scotland for over 200 years. The museum has many fascinating displays, including the story of the growth of one of the nation's leading and most stylish hospitals, as revealed by the quality of its architecture, stained glass and antique furnishings also happenings in the former operating theatre and an acclaimed collection of patients' art therapy going back to 1839. Additional attractions include: a cathedral style church, rock garden, tea-room and garden shop.

Opening Times Open Thursday, Friday, Saturday: 1:30pm-4:30pm.
October to Easter: Thursday/Friday only.
Closed middle 2 weeks in October, last week in December and first week in January.
