The splendid remains of a late 13th and early 14th Century Cistercian abbey founded by Devorgilla, Lady of Galloway, in memory of her husband John Balliol. Devorgilla is buried in the presbytery with a casket containing her husband's embalmed heart. Joint ticket with New Abbey Corn Mill available, coach and car park, reasonable disabled access.
Opening Times Open: April to September:9:30am-6:30pm Monday to Saturday, 2pm-6:30pm Sunday
October to March:9:30am-4:30pm Monday to Wednesday And Saturday
9:30am-1pm Thursday, 2pm-4:30pm Sunday.
Admission Adult: £1.20, Child 50p, Concessions: 90p.
