Amazing mechanical theatre created by sculptor Eduard Bersudsky and director Tatiana Jakovskaya.
Hundreds of tiny carved figures and pieces of old scrap perform an incredible Heath- Robinson-meet-Hieronymous-Bosch choreography to haunting music and synchronised lighting, telling the funny and tragic stories of human spirit strugling against the relentless circles of life and death.
Originally from St. Petersburg (Russia) the magic drama of Sharmanka (Russian for barrel-organ) now is on the top list of the Glasgow's tourist attractions.
These kinetic sculptures have also performed in Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, USA and Switzerland.
Unique art for thought, craft and entertainment for any age.
Admission Full performance of the kinetic sculptures Thursday at 7pm, on Sunday at 3 & 7pm.
Other time by appointment only.
Tickets: £4/ Conc.£3, children free.
Sharmanka will be closed at current location 21May 2006 due to redevelopment of the building for two years, while we will be operating from 1st up 64 Osborne Street (100 m away)
