Experience Farm & Folk life in the Orkney's in the 18th and 19th centuries with a trip to these two museums.
Buildings and grounds include a working barn with grain kiln (Corrigall) and a Victorian garden (Kirbuster). Traditional crafts and livestock; horse drawn implements and machines are on display.

At Kirbuster you can sit in a traditional Orkney chair by the peat fire that burns in the central hearth. A stone bed built into the wall gives the feeling that life has not changed much since the Stone Age. Outbuildings contain farm implements, while animal’s wander around the grounds. A putting green and horseshoe pitching provides extra entertainment for the family.

Corrigall is a traditional farm building from the 19th century, with a barn and working kiln. A parish weaver's loom, and many other strange and fascinating objects can be seen in this homely environment. Animals are here too, making it an enjoyable place for children. Implements and a horse gig help to bring the farming life of yesteryear vividly back to life.

Opening Times
