The area around Grantown is one of the main concentrations of early, and probably pre-Christian, Pictish stones in the North of Scotland. More than a dozen have been found within 14 miles of Grantown.
Unfortunately some have been removed to museums and some have been destroyed, but some of the best remain in the area. The stones at Inverallan, Findlarig, Knockando, Invera'an, Advie and Congash can still be seen.
Please ask for permission from the farmers and landowners for access to some sites. Follow the Country Code: remember to close all gates, avoid damaging fences or property, keep dogs on the leash, and take home any litter.
Opening Times March – December
Monday – Saturday 10am – 4pm
Admission Adults £2.00
Concessions £1.00
Children (10-16) £1.00
Children (under 10) FREE
