Located one mile downstream from the present bridge. The old bridge carried the military road from the Lecht to Nairn and Fort George. Constructed in 1754 by a detachment of men from Lord Charles Hay's Regiment, under the direction of Major William Caulfield, a former assistant of General Wade.
