Surrounding area: Fraoch Lodge’s location is an absolute winner; situated within the Cairngorm National Park in the peaceful Highland village of Boat of Garten, next to the River Spey & on the edge of the RSPB’s huge Abernethy Forest Reserve. The area without doubt holds one of the richest habitats. A walk through the native Caledonian pine forest reveals little has changed since the last glaciers disappeared 10 000 years ago.
Additional notes: Come the end of the mountain day we don't abandon you at your accommodation until the next morning. We provide for you throughout your stay. After a fantastic day you arrive back to a welcoming mug of tea and some of Rebecca's home baking, & then one of her fantastic evening meals. This, the shared camaraderie of a like-minded group & the totally informal atmosphere make for a brilliant holiday. It can't be beat!
