About Craiglea:
Craiglea - the perfect location for corporate events, celebrations and special occasions. Craiglea opens its doors for exclusive or partial use to enjoy the wild and turbulent or calm and isolated Highland treasures.

This Scottish Highlands hideaway with accommodation for 15-20 guests offers privacy and seclusion, whilst contemplating the abundance of unique and thrilling entertainment on your doorstep. The area also boasts the peaceful harbour which is the natural habitat of an array of wildlife including whooper swans, puffins and seals.

Situated just 30 miles from John O’Groats, Craiglea provides for a unique Scottish atmosphere to enjoy a wonderful Highlands adventure.

Welcome to Craiglea.

Surrounding area:

Craiglea is a 4 star Scottish Highlands retreat comprising three listed guest houses, sleeping 15-20 guests and an indoor leisure area with heated pool, sauna and relaxed seating to overlook the stunning scenery. Craiglea offers its guests luxury accommodation in one of the last unspoilt locations in the British Isles boasting unparalleled natural beauty and seclusion, breathtaking landscape views, pure air, centuries of history and heritage, friendly locals and privacy.

Nestled in a picturesque hillside in Latheronwheel, Caithness, Craiglea is the perfect place to escape from it all and where the only stress is to choose between the thrills of the many outdoor pursuits on offer or the tranquillity of stunning natural surroundings.

Whether renting the entire facility exclusively or just one dwelling, Craiglea can accommodate for a whole spectrum of corporate events, group bonding and team building exercises.

Guests can enjoy a range of activities including quad biking, off-road driving, mountain biking, guided walks and hikes, wildlife tours, falconry, deep sea fishing, shark fishing, gamefishing and gameshooting, whisky trails and tasting, golf and clay pigeon shooting to name a few.

Additional notes: The Craiglea leisure area, fronting the development with open, uninterrupted views over the Latheron cliffs and Moray Firth is unique to the North. Compensating for the vagaries of the Scottish Highland weather, this comprehensively appointed complex offers a heated indoor swimming pool which contributes to Craiglea’s reputation that rivals exclusive North American retreats and Alpine lodges.

Each guest house has its own kitchen with modern built-in appliances and lounge with sofas, full working coal fires, high-speed wireless internet access, plasma screen and Sky TV to relax after an activity filled Scottish Highland day. Guests are free to use the acres of gardens which offer a designated area for summer barbeques.

Craiglea can be hired on a self-catering basis or, if requested, catering or personal local top ranking chef’s can be provided during your stay. Craiglea also has an in-house full laundry service which also provides fresh bed linen everyday.

Craiglea also owns 3 quad-bikes, a Land Rover, boat and 150 acres of mountainous terrain with cliffs and rivers running down to the harbour.

We can also arrange a variety of activities and adventures to satisfy your party’s tastes. These include: visiting local artist studios and galleries, participating in art workshops, cookery classes by the local top ranking chef’s, guided walks and hikes, falconry, deep sea fishing, whisky trails and tasting and clay pigeon shooting to name a few. See the activities page on our website for more information.
