As closely as possible, it follows the Cardon Farm boundary. The south-east half of the walk follows the same route as the Blakehope Walk. The north-west half climbs to the hill top and then follows the farm boundary to the far western edge of the farm.

There are several stiles with no accompanying gate on this route. In addition the fields that the route uses are often home to cattle. As such the walk is generally unsuitable for walkers with dogs. Some parts of this walk can also be particularly wet. The Glenholm Wildlife Project is based at Cardon Farm, an upland sheep farm of some 1,000 acres. Four way-marked paths varying from a two kilometre riverside walk to a more challenging ten kilometre walk around the hills that mark the farm boundary help you to explore and enjoy this area. The Glenholm Wildlife Project has something for everyone. You can watch the birds around the Glenholm pond from your vantage point in the project hide. There is also an artificial otter holt waiting for the local otters to take up residence Or relax and watch the same wildlife on television from the warmth of the tea room and lounge at the Glenholm Centre. If you're feeling a little more energetic take a stroll on one of four clearly marked and interpreted walks that explore the farm. And for our younger visitors the Millennium Wood has some great surprises in store if you search a little. Tear room open Tuesday - Sunday 10 - 5. Leaflets outlining walks can be obtained from the Centre.
