Lundin Links Travel Guide - Scotland

Lundin Links grew out of a residential suburb of the village of Lower Largo, blossoming into a resort community in its own right by the late 19th century. Aside from the sandy beaches common to the Largo Bay environs, Lundin Links boasts two spectacular golf courses renowned throughout Scotland and beyond.

The Lundin Golf Club (18 holes) serves as a staging ground for pre–qualification rounds to enter the St. Andrew's Open Championship. The Lundin Links Ladies (9 holes) course is not only the world's oldest women's course, but the famous pastoral greens are also home to a set of Neolithic standing stones. The stones are in a "four poster" arrangement common to the area in the second century BC, but the north–by–northeast stone was reduced to rubble by treasure–hunters some two hundred years ago. The course can be accessed via the A915 East motorway from Leven.

Lundin Links also features a Bowling Club and the Lundin Sports Club for activities like tennis, squash, indoor swimming and aerobics equipment. Nineteenth-century country charm pervades the local host of restaurants for both fine dining and casual lunch.
