"Parrandier", The Old Church of Urquhart: We are at the heart of the area known as "The Laich of Moray". The Laich lies in the shelter of the Grampian Highlands and is well known for its dry and sunny climate.
Your spirits lift as you approach the edge of the village and spy the inspiring 58
ft tower of The Old Church of Urquhart. The converted church dates back to 1843 and is a B - listed building. Conceived in the perpendicular style of 'James Gillespie Graham', it is situated in a superb rural location 5 miles from Elgin. On top of a small hill, the church offers open, uninterrupted views of the beautiful countryside.
You find your own little island of peace in nearly 2 acres of garden grounds, surrounded by a sea of stormy farmland. "Parrandier" is an ideal base for exploring the Malt Whisky Country.
You can plan day trips in your car to:-

the Castle Trail

and of course see Loch Ness and its Monster.
