The surrounding countryside is famed for its natural beauty. Not to be missed is the Fortingall Yew, at 5,000 years it is probably the oldest tree in Europe. The lovely conservation village of Kenmore lies just 2 miles away at one end of Loch Tay (shop, pub, water sports, and Iron Age settlement). At the other end of the loch the village of Killin (shops, hotels etc.) straddles the stunning Falls of Dochart. From Killin, Loch Lomond and Scotland's West Coast are within easy driving distance.

Low level, forest and mountain walks are virtually on the doorstep. Walkers can enjoy everything from level woodland strolls to the challenges of Glen Lyon (one of the loveliest of Scottish glens and teeming with wildlife, including the elusive capercaillie). Mountain bikers have Drummond Hill on the doorstep with miles of tracks whilst, for walkers, the famous nearby Schiehallion (one of many local Munros) can be reached within minutes.
