Hafton Castle: Hafton Castle is a magnificent building with views across Holy Loch, set in its own delightful gardens with its own magnificent indoor swimming pool. The Castle is a superb house with its wonderful indoor pool, billiard room, toy room, big conservatory and lots of outdoor space, plenty of space for the large number of people it sleeps. The magnificent front hall has plenty of seats, wood-burner and a grand piano. The Castle was built by James Hunter, and its architect was David Hamilton who also designed Dunoon Castle.
The bedrooms are very comfortable and all have en suite showers. The building has some magnificent features, beautiful ceilings, carved doors and a superb staircase. There are a numerous spacious public rooms. The two drawing rooms open into a large room, ideal for weddings, parties etc. The castle is the ideal venue for family holidays.

Outside, the gardens have old trees, lawns and the views across the Loch are beautiful. The Castle can be reached from Glasgow Airport in approximately 45 minutes by car and guests usually arrive via the ferry which departs from Gourock and crosses the Firth of Clyde, a very romantic and atmospheric start to their stay at Hafton. There are many local activities, golf, swimming, clay pigeon shooting, sailing, fishing and quad biking to name but a few. Dunoon itself is the home of the Cowal Highland Gathering including world highland dancing championships, heavy events and a procession of more than 2,000 marching pipers. It is always held the last weekend in August.
Argyll Forest Park offers forest walks, mountain paths, spectacular views, car parks and picnic areas, cycle trails, horse riding and fishing and is a ten minute drive from Dunoon.
