Highland Museum of Childhood: The Highland Museum of Childhood is located in a restored Victorian Station which once served the Highland village of Strathpeffer in its heyday as a Spa. Set in a garden and picnic area, there is easy free parking.

The Museum tells the story of childhood in the Highlands of Scotland, recording customs and traditions amongst crofters and townsfolk. Grown-ups and children alike enjoy the Museum's award-winning video, "A Century of Highland Childhood", and the informative displays; there are hands-on activities for children.
The Museum is home to the fascinating Angela Kellie Doll Collection. Other items include children's costume, and toys, books and games from the Victorian and Edwardian periods; more recent additions from the 1920s to the 1950s bring back memories for many.
The Museum Shop stocks gifts, traditional toys and a wide selection of books. The Museum Coffee Shop has a reputation for fine coffees and teas, home baking and freshly prepared snacks and soups.

The conservation village of Strathpeffer lies 5 miles west of Ross-shire?s county town of Dingwall and has the attractive ambience of a Victorian Spa village with grand hotels, elaborate mansion houses, wooded hill walks and formal gardens. Strathpeffer's pleasant village square, with shops including a Victorian Pharmacy, is at the heart of this exceptional collection of Victorian buildings, many surrounded by fine specimen trees.

In addition to its historic Victorian Station, the restored Spa Pavilion and Pump Room add to the evocative atmosphere. The village, encircled by beautiful wooded hills and shadowed by Ben Wyvis, has many opportunities for scenic walks.
