Innerpeffray Library: Oldest free lending library in Scotland. Founded in 1680 these collections on antiquarian books are housed in a beautiful purpose-built 18th Century building with views over the Strathearn countryside. The book collection is a unique fragment of Scotland's social and intellectual history. It has borrowers ledgers back to 1747.
Next to the library is the ancient Collegiate Chapel of St Mary's (1508 Historic Scotland). Nearby, the old school buildings framed by giant Sequoia trees add interest to the library's attractive setting on the wooded banks of the River Earn.
