About Strathlene Golf Club: Strathlene Golf Club, magnificently situated in a picturesque position overlooking the Moray Firth, is at the eastern end of Buckie, Banffshire in the Northeast of Scotland.
Records date back to 1880, detailing a thriving course, known as "The Buckie Golf Club". At this time there were nine holes compared to the present day 18 hole course.
The land was gifted by the Dowager Countess of Seafield in 1887 to her factor, Mr W.G. Bryson. His niece, Miss Kynoch of Strathlene sold the property in 1931 to Buckie Town Council. They employed Mr George E. Smith to plan a new eighteen hole course.
This present day, 18-hole, par 69 of 5977 yards cliff-top course, follows the natural contours of the land. The high quality greens, complimented by well maintained open fairways and natural rough present a challenge to every golfer.

Surrounding area: Strathlene Golf Club, in conjunction with the Local accommodation providers (details on request), has set up a golf discount scheme, which entitles ''Visitors to Buckie' to 50% off the normal green fees at our club. To claim your discount, you should ask for a discount voucher at the hotel reception. The voucher should be stamped, signed and dated by a responsible person at the hotel to validate it. You can then present this voucher at the Club to recieve your 50% discount when you pay your fees. We hope that 'Visitors to Buckie' will choose to play golf at Strathlene and will return to Buckie for future golfing visits. Enjoy your break and your golf.

Additional notes: The course is laid out around the ancient 'Law Hill' and the greens of the 4th, 10th and 13th are testingly cut into its shoulders. These, along with the plateaued greens of the fifth and sixth, are typical features of the course. The par five 14th running back towards the clubhouse, is a tempting invitation to 'open the shoulders', but beware of the 'hook' to the left towards the waiting whin bushes. The last four holes need the players' concentration levels to be maintained, with the deep gullies cut into the fairways proving to be another hazardous feature. The 18th is a long par three with out-of-bounds to left and right.
