Scotland Map This vast area of Scotland offers a rich choice for golfers of all abilities, from rolling coastal links to superb parkland courses inland, the rural charm of quiet, secluded village courses or top quality renowned clubs.

There are many courses of varying size, from uniquely quaint six or thirteen hole courses, to more general nine and eighteen hole courses, bringing a fresh challenge to golfers and to suit those who are looking for either a short game or an all out complete golfing day. So if you are visiting don't forget to bring your clubs. If you don't have any there are plenty for hire and the smaller less daunting courses are not short in supply, which should help to entice people new to the game to give it a try.

If you are going to give it a go, then where better than at the home of golf?
Throughout the area stretching out over the rolling hillsides, there are many fine examples of moorland and parkland courses to offer a distinctive challenge to the golfer, with excellent views over the beautiful surrounding countryside. On the West Coast the links courses offer another alternative, full of natural hazards where gusting sea breezes make it a little more difficult to avoid the bunkers. The panoramic views of the mountains, lochs and islands have captivated artists, authors, composers, and poets for centuries and they make a perfect setting for a game of golf too.

You can also take a day trip to some of Scotland's treasure islands lying off the West Coast - Iona, Mull, Jura, Colonsay, Tiree and Islay for a round of golf. You can catch a ferry from the coastal town of Oban.

They are a perfect setting with views back over the mainland or out to the Isles Rhum, Eigg and the Outer Hebrides. Real golf explorers won't be disappointed, its well worth the trip, most are a serious challenge for every level of golfer and you'll no doubt find some things that aren't explained in the rule book, like sheep as natural hazards instead of bunkers! The land here makes the courses generally fast, short turf which follows the natural contour of the land.

All courses in the area offer either a round, day, weekend or week pass and the prices will vary according to the quality and size of the course. Whatever your preference or budget, we are sure you will find something to suit.
