Mull of Kintyre is a peninsula on the southwestern tip of the Argyll peninsula of Scotland. It is long and narrow, with mountainous regions in the centre and fertile farmlands along the coast. Its history dates back to the Vikings that once lived here. The main town is Campbeltown, which does have a farming and fishing economy, but the main industry is the distilling of whisky. This is the home of some of the best whisky in the world, especially the award winning "Springbank". Paul McCartney has a home quite close to Campbeltown and one of his songs; "Mull of Kintyre" has made this tiny part of the world very well known.
