The name Brodick comes from the Norse words, meaning "broad bay". Brodick is the main village on Arran, although Lamlash is historically the provincial town of the island. It is set amid a swathe of glens and mountains and the peaks of Cir Mhor and Goatfell offer a wonderful panorama of the island. They are popular destinations for walkers and nature lovers.
