Temporary photograph of a Scottish Thistle till we obtain a picture of Leven Leven is a picturesque community in the Kingdom of Fife in Scotland. It is located on the East Coast with the East Neuk fishing village on one side and the towns of Kirkcaldy and Glenrothes on the other. It is a very popular seaside town where you can have an enjoyable holiday. It is only 13 miles southwest of St. Andrews and is in the heart of golfing country. There is also a bus station in the town and it has its own town service.

Walk the trail from Leven to Lower Largo – a distance of only 3.75 miles. Take a stroll through Leven where you will see the quaint homes of the fishermen of the community. Enjoy a day on the course at Leven Links, where you can tee on one of the best courses in the country, known for its blind shots and hidden hazards. When you are in Leven, you have easy access to many golf courses in the area, including Lundin Links and the famous courses at St. Andrews.

When you come to Leven, you will feel as if you have stepped back into the past with the rows of houses of varying styles and colours. Some of the roofs are red and blue, which provides a picturesque picture along with the natural beauty of the area. Visit the Methil Heritage Museum Centre to learn of the history of the area and to see exhibits of a time long past.

This ancient burgh of Leven is considered to be the gateway to East Neuk. It is popular with tourists during the summer because of its long sandy beaches and the busy promenade. There are amusements here for the children as well as beautiful parks where you can just sit and enjoy the scenery. There are plenty of cafes where you can drop in for a coffee or a snack.

One of the main attractions of the town of Leven is the impressive swimming pool and leisure centre. Enjoy a walk along the nature trails where you will get to see Mother Nature in all her finery as well as get to see the wildlife in their natural habitat. The Millennium Mercat Cross located on the grounds of Carberry House is a replica of the original cross, but give you a glimpse of a monument once used in the town. Visit Scoonie Kirk, the original parish church of the town, which was moved to its present location in 1705.

With the plentiful accommodation and wide range of restaurants in Leven, you should have an enjoyable visit.
