Kyle of Lochalsh is a small village on the Northwest coast of the Highlands of Scotland. It owes its development to the coming of the railway to this part of the country in the 19th century. Today the village is the terminus of the Kyle of Lochalsh Line, making it quite easy for visitors to take the train to this location. Much of the area around Duirinish is wild and uninhabited, but is the perfect spot to see crafting as it once was. The Kyle of Lochalsh is very child friendly, which means that you can let the children go exploring on their own without having to watch their every movement. There is also a playground in the town, a glass bottomed boat and ruined castles for them to explore. In the Kyle of Lochalsh, the Gaelic language is still widely spoken and the people are really friendly. Enjoy a lively time at the pub and ceilidhs are a regular occurrence.
