Loch Carron Along the eastern shore of Loch Carron, the village of the same name, Lochcarron, stretched for over a mile along the shoreline. A sea loch in two parts dominates Loch Carron. A narrow neck, about six miles long, separates the inner and outer lochs. It is surrounded by some of Scotland's grandest Highland scenery with bountiful wild and broken country to explore.

There is a wealth of accommodations for visitors from efficiency units to hotels as well as a delightful selection of quaint stores for your shopping enjoyment. The fishing heritage of the town is evident in the concrete pier and the small harbour with its fishing boats. The road tends to bypass the southern part of the town, but this section has many points of interest to tourists.

Today, it is a picturesque village of about 900 people and home to The Lochcarron Weavers, the largest manufacturers of authentic Scottish tartan in the world. Loch Carron also boasts a 9-hole golf course and opportunities for cycling, fishing and hunting.

The striking colours in the scenery always draw artists and photographers to the area. Walkers really like to stroll the Ross-shire hills and drink in the view.
